The LTC Jaimie E. Leonard Warwick Crew Member Scholarship ($1500.00)

This scholarship is awarded to a coach-nominated Warwick High School Crew athlete (male or female) who is awesome, humble, and able to persevere in the face of challenges, a mentor to others, someone who does not give up. The winner of this scholarship is recognized as someone who values the camaraderie of the sport.  The Warwick Crew Coach selects the winner of this scholarship.

Cassandra Duma – 2021 Crew Scholarship Winner

Cassandra “Casey” Duma was awarded the $1500.00 Crew Scholarship. Casey was Varsity Crew Captain in her Junior and Senior years and she volunteered throughout her high school years, to include coaching for the Warwick Valley Soccer Club. She plans to attend Mercyhurst University to study Sports Business Management. She also wants to share her love for the sport of rowing as a volunteer coach.

The HERo Scholarship ($2500.00) for Excellence in Community Service

This scholarship is awarded to a Warwick High School student who represents intelligence, leadership and concern for his/her community. Special consideration will be given to students who are actively making a difference in their community.  We also consider if the student has overcome certain obstacles in their lifetime, however this is not a requirement.

Kelly Sullivan – 2021 HERo Scholarship Winner

Kelly Sullivan was awarded the $2500.00 HERo Scholarship. Kelly is a leader and scholar who served with Student Government, Student Council, Students Against Destructive Decisions, National Honor Society, Math Honor Society, Model United Nations and more. Kelly demonstrated community service through her involvement with numerous community organizations, including Warwick Volunteer EMS Junior Corps, Wounded Warrior Project, and her work as a camp counselor. She also organized a fundraiser for Beautiful People:  Adaptive Sports for Children with Disabilities in 2018, raising over $1000 for children. She plans to attend Albany College of Pharmacy after graduation, and she has already been accepted for a Masters Program in Physician Assistant Studies at Albany Medical College.

Congratulations to Kelly and Casey, and to all this year’s outstanding applicants for their tremendous achievements!
