United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region brings together people and resources to fight for the health, education and financial stability of every person in our community. For individuals and organizations that want to help improve the health of their community – United Way is the platform that enables individuals, groups and companies to make a difference – individually and collectively – in whatever way they wish to contribute their time, talent and treasure. Through their MISSION UNITED™ program, United Way provides local veterans with not only access to housing and legal services, but also access to job training and advancement. We are proud to help United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region with a $3,000 grant for their Military Night Out that will take place in the Fall of 2020. You can check out more about this organization on their website at https://www.uwdor.org/.
TOWNS 4 TROOPS was formed in September 2017 to reach the social needs of local active-duty military members and their families. Towns 4 Troops is a grassroots 501(c)3 organization started from an Iron Chef BBQ event involving firefighters and Marines. From that event, T4T has grown into an organization supporting local active-duty military in the Hudson Valley in a multitude of different ways. HERoes in Deed has awarded T4T a $2,000 grant for their Stockings for Soldiers program. In conjunction with community participation, T4T assembles holiday stockings which will be distributed to local active military to spread holiday cheer and in recognition of their dedicated service.
